“Placebo” was founded in 1994, when singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Brian Molko met guitarist Stefan Olsdal, who is still the core of the band.
With 13 million records sold in 25 years, Placebo is one of the leading alternative rock associations. The band’s debut album paved the way for a significant change in British music, as it was the opposite of the then dominant British pop and inspired a number of other bands to follow suit. With five albums entering the top ten of the British charts, sold-out concert tours and festivals around the world, and collaborations with music legends such as David Bowie, Robert Smith and Michael Staips, Placebo has taken its place in British music history.
During the 25 years of “Placebo”, alongside the music, the visual image of the group has been equally important – laconic and bright, always changing, but always recognizable, confusing stereotypes of gender roles. It will not be said out loud that for a certain generation, this group dictated fashion – bright black lacquered nails and dark eye lines for both boys and girls, hairstyles like Brian Molko and the dominant black in clothing. Molko himself ironically once said that he should always have one hairstyle in front of his fans.
In today’s divided world, listeners are given the cover of the association’s latest album – the single “Beautiful James”, about which Brian Molko comments: “If the song annoys limited and stereotyped people, I’m happy about it. But it’s still very important to me that each listener reveals their personal story – I really don’t want to tell you how you should feel. ”
Advance ticket sales will start on Tuesday, October 12, at 10.00. Public ticket sales from Thursday, October 14, at 10.00. Due to the capacity of the Sigulda castle ruins stage, only 4,000 tickets will go on sale.
