British actor William Mosley / Article will meet the audience at the Riga IFF session

Director and visual artist Širina Nešata, who “Land of dreams” started as a photo project with the Iranian artist Shoi Azari, this satire is called Trump, a product of the era of corporate and social network performance.

Actor William Mosley, who plays one of the main roles in the film, plays a romantic poet who has fallen in love with the film, who is in love with the main character of the film, Simina, thus becoming a parody of the American loner.

Mosley, who Latvian audiences might recognize from their roles in the films of the “Chronicles of Narnia” trilogy or the world-famous American series “The Royals”, is temporarily staying in Latvia due to a new project – the actor plays the writing classic Edgar Alan Po in the horror film “Raven’s Hollow”.

In the movie “Land of dreams”, which is part of the Riga IFF retrospective section “The Rossellinis and The Century”, Actors Matt Dylon, Isabella Rosellini, Anna Ganna and many others meet in the bright cartoons of “Americana”. Meanwhile, the role of Simina is brought to life by Sheil Vanda, one of the best-known actresses of Iranian descent. Some might remember her as a hijab vampire girl from a black-and-white western girl “A Girl Going Home One Night” (2014).

The organizers of Riga IFF also emphasized that the enjoyment of cinema in the current conditions must be as safe as possible – Riga IFF face-to-face screenings and events take place at the green security level set by the Cabinet of Ministers. They can only be accessed with an interoperable EU digital certificate for Covid-19 vaccination or disease (with QR code) and a valid identity card (passport or eID).

Document inspection will be performed at the entrance to the event venues. Distance restrictions, the use of masks and disinfection measures are required throughout the cinema.
