After he disappeared from sight for nearly 5 months, during a hike in the San Gabriel Mountains outside Los Angeles, the American authorities confirmed the death of the British actor, Julian Sands, at the age of 65, after hikers found human remains in nature belonging to the famous star.
The San Bernardino County Forensics Department confirmed the death, Tuesday, in a statement, saying: “On Saturday, June 24, 2023, at approximately 10 a.m., civilian hikers contacted the Fontana Police Sheriff after they discovered human remains on Mount Baldy. Al-Bari, the warden responded along with the Emergency Operations Department of the Police Department and they headed to the scene of the accident.
The statement also indicated that the coroner confirmed that the results of the analysis of the human remains belonged to Julian Sands, indicating that the method of death is under investigation.
The 65-year-old actor, who became famous for his role in 1985 in the movie “Room with View”, has been missing since January 13 in Mount San Antonio, also called Mount Baldy, which has a height of 3068 meters and is the highest peak in the San Gabriel mountain range near Los Angeles. .
At that time, search and rescue teams were sent to search for Sands, but the search operation was stopped due to difficult weather conditions and the danger of an avalanche in the area, and helicopters and drones were used instead.
