Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II received an official visit to Windsor Castle on Wednesday. The 95-year-old queen had a conversation with Andrew Baily, the governor of the Bank of England.

It was the Queen’s second official visit in a week. The first visitor after a rest period during which she received no guests was General Nick Carter. He will soon be stepping down as chief of the British defense staff.
The head of state also knighted her personal doctor, British media report. Sir Huw Thomas has been a member of the Windsors medical staff for fifteen years, seven of which as chief. He is probably also the doctor who recently advised the 95-year-old queen to take it easy. Thomas was knighted in an intimate ceremony at Windsor Castle accompanied by his wife. The doctor received the decorations as a Knight of the Royal Victorian Order.
The queen seems to be making amends in the photos shared on social media on Wednesday. She ended up suddenly in the hospital for an examination last month. Shortly before that, a visit by the Queen to Northern Ireland had been cancelled. It was Elizabeth’s first hospital stay in years.
Doctors advised the queen to take it easy for a few weeks, as a result of which she missed the climate summit in Glasgow, among other things. She then quietly went back to work with some digital audiences.
