Britain’s King Charles Makes First Public Appearance Since Cancer Diagnosis at Church with Queen Camilla

Britain’s King Charles attended church on Sunday in his first public appearance since announcing his cancer diagnosis last week and postponing some of his engagements to undergo care.

The king was wearing a brown coat and carrying an umbrella when he arrived with his wife, Queen Camilla, to the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Sandringham, eastern England.

Buckingham Palace announced last Monday that King Charles (75 years old) had been diagnosed with an unspecified type of cancer. The King assumed the throne of the country less than 18 months ago, following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth.

King Charles issued a message yesterday, Saturday, in which he expressed his gratitude to those who wished him recovery following the diagnosis of his illness, and he is now spending his time at the Sandringham country estate.
