The delivery, which was not publicly announced, was completed before Britain, the United States (US) and France gave Kiev permission to launch missiles deep into Russia, the news agency said in an article on Monday ( 26/11/2024).
The British-made weapon arrived in Ukraine “several weeks ago,” according to people familiar with the matter.
“The source declined to disclose the delivery date or the number of missiles provided, citing the need for operational security,” the Bloomberg report said.
The group asked the UK Ministry of Defense for clarification but was told, “We do not comment on operational details, as that would only benefit Russia.”
The ministry said Britain’s support for Ukraine remained “strong.”
London has provided an undisclosed number of Storm Shadow missiles to Kiev since the escalation of hostilities between Moscow and Kiev in February 2022.
The last time the British authorities confirmed that they were carrying such weapons was in April.
Storm Shadow is an air-guided guided missile with a range of over 250 km (155 mi), which has been in service since the early 2000s.
London developed the weapon together with Paris, and the French version was called SCALP.
