Britain refused dialogue with Georgia

The UK authorities have decided to suspend cooperation with Georgia within the framework of the Wardrob Dialogue. They singled out the actions of the republican authorities as the reason.

The Wardrob dialogue with Georgia at the ministerial level has been frozen by the British authorities. Negotiations between the headquarters of the two countries have also been cancelled, said the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Tbilisi, Garrett Ward.

He noted the actions of the Georgian authorities as the reason for freezing cooperation.

“For these reasons, for the first time in 10 years, we, the British side, have decided to freeze the annual Wardrobe High-Level Ministerial Dialogue. This happened for the first time since the founding of the dialogue format. We also canceled planned high-level talks between defense headquarters and suspended the new cybersecurity program.”

Earlier, members of the European Parliament approved a resolution calling on the Georgian authorities to repeal the laws on foreign agents and the protection of family values, as well as to join the sanctions campaign against Russia. Otherwise, the EU will freeze financial assistance, review the visa-free regime and impose sanctions against the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Bidzina Ivanishvili.
