The British government is ready to expand sanctions against Iran to prevent Tehran from creating nuclear weapons (nuclear weapons).
According to Report, the British Foreign Office told The Daily Telegraph about this.
“Iran’s nuclear program has never been at such a high level as it is today. We remain committed to preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons and using all available diplomatic tools to do so, including the snapback mechanism if necessary,” he said Foreign Office representative.
The snapback procedure within the framework of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program provides for the restoration of all UN Security Council sanctions against Tehran that were lifted under the terms of the plan adopted in 2015.
Let us recall that on November 1, Advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic Kamal Kharrazi said in an interview with Al Mayadeen TV channel that Iran may change its nuclear doctrine if faced with an existential threat. According to him, Tehran has the technical capabilities to create nuclear weapons, and is stopped only by the fatwa (religious ban) of the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on the development, production and use of this type of weapons.
