Immigration rules for welfare workers from abroad will be temporarily eased, the British government announced, BNR reported.
Social workers, assistants in need of special care and workers in social care homes will be able to apply for a special 12-month visa.
The government said it would help tackle labor shortages.
Earlier, many warnings were issued to the government that the sector was facing enormous difficulties in recruiting after Brexit. Social workers will be added to the list of scarce occupations for which special work visas are provided to fill jobs.
Temporary 12-month visas are expected to take effect at the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare said. An evaluation of the measure will be made in a year.
The BBC’s political correspondent Helen Kat said the measure would be welcomed as short-term assistance in the sector, but ministers would certainly be put under additional pressure for a long-term solution to social care problems.
After the United Kingdom left the EU, European social workers are no longer automatically granted the right to work on the Island, but have to apply for visas.
