TEHERAN – Test fire of 16 ballistic missiles Iran to bully Israel denounced the British. Tehran responded by saying London had double standards and was too interfering in the internal affairs of other countries.

The 16 ballistic missile maneuvers conclude Friday’s “Great Prophet 17” war games. The Tehran military blatantly declared the maneuver as a warning to Israel.

The war games in southern Iran come amid a lull in nuclear deal talks in Vienna. Negotiations to revive the Iran nuclear deal and lift US sanctions will resume on December 27, 2021.

“This action constitutes a threat to regional and international security and we call on Iran to immediately cease its activities,” the British Foreign Office said in a statement.

“A clear violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231,” it continued.

Responding to the statement, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh confirmed that the launch of the dozens of missiles was in full compliance with international law.

“Iran is acting in accordance with international laws and regulations as well as its own defense needs, therefore, such statements and attitudes are not only considered as interfering in Iran’s internal affairs, but also continuing London’s double standard policy,” Khatibzadeh said, as quoted by the ministry’s Telegram channel. Foreign Affairs of Iran, Saturday (25/12/2021).

Khatibzadeh further dismissed accusations that Tehran violated UN Security Council Resolution 2231 on the Iranian nuclear issue.

The resolution, adopted in July 2015, endorses the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and stipulates that Tehran’s memo is a nuclear program supporting the lifting of sanctions on Iran.

The UK has insisted that a test launch of a ballistic missile violates the resolution.
