Hours before taking to the New Year’s stage in the center of Plovdiv, the winner of the BRIT award and numerous world music prizes Sonique met with the mayor of the city Kostadin Dimitrov and the deputy mayor for culture, archeology and tourism Plamen Panov.
“I’ve always been warmly welcomed in Bulgaria. It’s my first time in Plovdiv and I’m happy to share New Year’s Eve with you. Come to the square and have fun together!” said the British pop star. She shared her first impressions of the city and its unique atmosphere.
Mayor Kostadin Dimitrov emphasized that Plovdiv is the oldest living city in Europe, European Capital of Culture 2019, full of events and monuments from different eras.
Tonight, in the first minutes of the New Year 2024, Sonic, a British singer, musician and DJ, will take the stage in front of the Municipality of Plovdiv on Stefan Stambolov Square. At the beginning of the new millennium, she took over the top of the charts with the hits “It Feels So Good’, ‘Sky’, ‘I Put a Spell on You’, ‘Alive’ and ‘Can’t Make Up My Mind’ and won the 2001 BRIT Award for Solo Artist.
