Brisbane will host the 2032 Olympics, announces IOC

The city of Brisbane, Australia, will host the 2032 Olympics. The announcement was made early this morning at the general assembly of the Executive Council of the IOC (International Olympic Committee).

Queensland’s state capital, the city had already been chosen, in March, to have exclusivity in negotiations with the IOC.

Before that, the next editions of the Olympics – which are taking place in Tokyo this month – will be held in Paris (2024) and Los Angeles (2028).

With the confirmation of an Australian city as host in 2032, the Olympic Games will pass through five different regions in sequence: South America (Rio), Asia (Tokyo), Europe (Paris), North America (Los Angeles) and Oceania ( Brisbane).
