Bris x IFK Gothenburg | IFK Gothenburg – The whole city’s team

We are starting up a collaboration with the children’s rights organization Bris, Children’s Right in the Society.Already today we are doing our first big activity together when Bris is the visiting organization at our Allsvenskan home premiere.
– The collaboration with such a strong actor as Bris strengthens IFK Gothenburg’s own work to let children be children, says Elisabeth Anderton, head of sustainability at IFK Gothenburg.

Bris, Children’s rights in society, is a children’s rights organization that for over 50 years has worked to strengthen children’s rights. Among other things, Bris runs the national support line for children, where children can turn every day regardless of what time it is and receive support from a counsellor. The organization also works locally in Gothenburg by providing support to children who want to see a counselor and collaborates with actors who meet children and young people or otherwise affect children’s living conditions.

– We know how important local actors are for children. They are the ones that the child meets in his everyday life and that is where the rights can become a reality. That is why we are so happy to join hands with IFK Göteborg and work together to make Gothenburg a better city for children, says Magnus Jägerskog, general secretary at Bris.

We at IFK Gothenburg are happy to start this collaboration as we know that joint efforts are required to improve the life situation of children and young people and strengthen faith in the future and promote good mental health.

– We found each other early in our discussions about a collaboration and the way forward feels very natural to us at IFK Gothenburg. We meet many children and young people every day. When countries, cities, communities and families suffer difficulties, special measures are required to protect and secure children’s rights and safety, and to keep adult responsibility away from them. As the social actor we at IFK Göteborg are, we see that together with Bris we can make a difference. We know that football can be a factor that contributes to creating safe meeting places where children can be children, and with Bri’s great competence and knowledge, we see that we can have a clear exchange of experience in order to be able to pay attention to and respond to children’s needs, says Elisabeth Anderton, head of sustainability in IFK Gothenburg.

Already today at the Allsvenskan home premiere, the children and Bris are in the center. When IFK Göteborg takes on Djurgården IF at Gamla Ullevi, Bri is the visiting organization. Bris will, among other things, have visibility on the big screen, and will also be in our event area and as part of the half-time break with an interview on the inner level.

Football brings so many people together and we see that sport is an important arena, not least when it comes to realizing children’s right to meaningful leisure time. We see being able to attend the premiere and meet all Blåvitt supporters as an opportunity to kick-start our collaboration, says Nathaly Mejia, regional representative at Bris Väst.
