BRIN cooperates with private sector to increase technology research and development

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) cooperates with multinational private companies to increase innovation, research and technology development in the country.

Head of BRIN Laksana Tri Handoko welcomed closer cooperation between BRIN and technology company Huawei, including collaboration in research and development in various concrete fields and specific use cases needed by BRIN and Indonesia.

“We look forward to collaborating on R&D (research and development) in Indonesia, whether in the form of a joint laboratory or other mutually beneficial cooperation,” said Handoko during a visit to the Huawei Innovation Center as quoted from a press statement on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Huawei Indonesia CEO Jacky Chen said that Huawei has always kept its commitment to bringing the benefits of digital transformation as a whole to every level of Indonesian society since its presence in Indonesia more than 21 years ago.

The pandemic has brought Huawei closer to society as Huawei believes that the latest digital technology research can help solve various problems surrounding post-pandemic recovery and multi-dimensional national development.

Huawei Indonesia also continues to call for the importance of synergy multiple helix between government, private, academic, community and media ecosystems.

“Huawei Indonesia’s collaboration with BRIN, which was marked by his visit to the Huawei Innovation Center, symbolizes our high belief in synergies involving all stakeholders across ecosystems. Together we will be able to realize Indonesia’s big dream, which is to become a global digital economy force to be reckoned with,” said Jacky.

The Huawei Innovation Center, prepared by Huawei Indonesia, is open to researchers, academics, and the public who want to learn more about technological solutions as solutions to various problems faced by various sectors and industries.
