„I’m happy about the rejection because I don’t want to endanger other people or myself“Says Richard Felsleitner, director of the Brigittenau district museum, relieved. Although museums have in principle been allowed to keep open since the beginning of February, the house on Dresdner Strasse was only open on one day and should now open again on April 11, according to Felsleitner.
On this day – if allowed by Corona rules – the exhibition “Theater – Cinema – Varieté in der Brigittenau” should finally open at ten o’clock. The finissage of the special exhibition “Portraits – People in Brigittenau” is planned for the same day: For the 120th birthday of the district, which was celebrated in the previous year, portraits of people from Brigittenau with the participation of young people from Mobile Youth Work – Back Bone and members of the senior parliament. 25 photos of typical residents should give an insight into the Brigittenau population.
Film music
Jazz fan Felsleitner is planning a live performance by pianist Gerd Schuller for April 11th, who will perform film melodies. However, according to the museum director: “Unfortunately, the opening date has not yet been set in stone.“
