Brigitte Kaandorp has taken on an acting job for the first time in years. The 61-year-old comedian plays a supporting role Ferry: The serieswhich can be seen on Netflix from Friday.
Kaandorp can be seen as a customer in the hair salon where Daniëlle, the girlfriend of main character Ferry Bouman, works.
A spokesperson for Kaandorp says that the comedienne “almost never plays in films and series. But she was personally asked by leading actor Frank Lammers. She could not refuse.”
Kaandorp herself no longer knows how long it has been since she appeared on screen as an actor. In 2000 she played the leading role in the feature film Babs. Since then she has had a few small performances, including in The Sinterklaas news.
Netflix, on behalf of production house De Mensen, states that Ferry: The series made, know that it was “the makers’ mission to get Brigitte into the series. We were big fans of her work and thought her humor fit well with the universe of Ferry. Fortunately, we managed to get her excited about the small role and a shooting day with us on set.”
The spin-off of hit series Undercover tells how drug boss Ferry Bouman took his first steps in the criminal circuit. The eight episodes of Ferry: The series can be streamed on Netflix from Friday.
