Brighton crowned their great season with a draw against Manchester City, already champions, which allows them to add the necessary point to seal qualification for the next edition of the Europa League.
In this postponed game of the 32nd day of English football, the team coached by the Italian Roberto de Zerbi has 62 points, in sixth position, and falls outside Aston Villa’s reach (58) with only one date remaining for the end of the championship.
The draw puts an end to the 12-game winning streak that Pep Guardiola’s team had chained and which led him to overcome Arsenal’s deficit and be crowned champion.
The jewel of Brighton, the young Paraguayan Julio Enciso (19 years old), scored the equalizer for the locals after international Phil Foden (25) opened the scoring for City.
After their brilliant season, Brighton’s objective now will be to retain their top figures, starting with the Ecuadorian Moisés Caicedo and the Argentine Alexis Mac Allister, wanted by the greats of the Premier League.
