Recently, her pulmonologist discovered a white spot on Sylvia’s lung during a PET scan (see video). On Friday the thirteenth, Sylvia gets the redeeming answer: “It turned out to be an inflammation and luckily not cancer! That was a discharge for me and my loved ones. The doctors could see the cancer in my lungs. It had not gotten any smaller. , but fortunately not bigger.”

The other good news is that Sylvia doesn’t feel sick. She says she has energy from ‘here to Tokyo’. “When I take those tests, I blow a young dog’s lung function. My blood is measured and it looks like it’s about someone else… But yes, I really do have cancer.”
Sylvia went from one roller coaster to another. At the end of the recording period of MAFS she got the bad news. And that while eleven years ago she already received sad news when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. “But I did have something: stage three lung cancer. If I had been two weeks later, it would have been untreatable.”

Despite her illness, Sylvia doesn’t just focus on herself. Together with MAFS participants Rein, Monique and Bert they sell their bridal wear for charity. What else is to be auctioned, can be viewed via this link. The auction closes August 31 and the highest bidder is asked to transfer the amount before September 3. On September 5, the reality stars organize the event ‘Dresses4Air’, where buyers can pick up their purchased item. The proceeds benefit the Longfonds and the Dutch Asthma Center Davos, among others.
