It was fun again on Thursday evening for hobby photographers and nature lovers. The Northern Lights were visible at 9 p.m., this time very bright.
According to professional photographer Jaring Rispens, it could be seen with the naked eye at Boazum. Reports also came from Grou, Ameland, Kootstertille and Harlingen that the rose-green sky was spot on.
In addition to Fryslân, enthusiasts in Groningen, Drenthe and Overijssel were also lucky.
The fact that the Northern Lights can be seen in the Netherlands is due to a strong plasma eruption on the sun. A cloud of electrically charged particles then heads towards Earth.
