At the start of the four-part series of services during Lent “Come and see!” the Catholic parish of Freiburg-Nord invites you to the Gundelfingen church at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 12th, at Bruder Klaus. The Liturgy of the Word is aimed at all interested parties and especially at families. The theme of the service series is seeing, looking and keeping an eye on things. In addition, pictures from the Gundelfingen Lenten cloth, which is hanging in the original in the Gundelfingen church again this year, are examined more closely. The other dates for the fasting services on Saturday evening: March 19 in St. Urban in Freiburg-Herdern, March 26 in Brother Klaus and again on April 2 in St. Urban, each at 6 p.m.
Guest performance by circus
The Circus Lamberti will be playing on the Alte Bundesstrasse/Waldkircherstrasse in Gundelfingen from March 25th to April 3rd. On Fridays, the circus donates two euros per ticket to the S’Einlädele Freiburg for the Ukraine emergency aid. More info at http://www.zirkus-lamberti.de

The new checkout system and the change in the price structure of the sports and family pool Mach’ Blau are topics in the meeting of the Denzlingen municipal council on Tuesday, March 15, at 6.30 p.m. in the Lothar-Fischer-Saal of the culture and community center, Stuttgarter Straße 30. Other items on the agenda are the increased focus of the Denzlingen 2.0 climate protection support program on climate neutrality, the search for a location for an all-weather site and additional measures at the fool’s fountain in front of the Volksbank for the 50th anniversary of the Welschkorngeister.
Lecture on Art Nouveau
The archaeologist Lars Petersen is the speaker of the next VHS lecture in the series “Culture in the Rocca” on Wednesday, March 16, at 9.30 a.m. in the Rocca cultural center, Hauptstraße 134. The subject of his presentation is Art Nouveau as an art epoch. Petersen played a key role in shaping the current special exhibition “Goddesses of Art Nouveau” in the Baden State Museum in Karlsruhe and in his lecture establishes connections to it.
