Lessons in Chemistry is adapted from the eponymous novel by author, journalist and science writer Bonnie Garmus, which was critically acclaimed and sold in 35 countries. Brie Larson, also producer of the series, will play the lead role. A first teaser with false airs of Mad Men has been unveiled:

The story is set in the early 1950s, describes the synopsis and follows “Elizabeth Zott, a woman who dreams of becoming a scientist but comes up against a patriarchal society. When Elizabeth is fired from the lab where she works, she agrees to become the host of a cooking show and sets out to teach all the ignored housewives – as well as the men, who suddenly start to listen – much more than recipes.

The series will be released this fall on Apple TV+, and therefore also on Canal Plus, which has integrated its catalog into its offer since April 20. Lewis Pullman, Aja Naomi King, Stephanie Koenig, Kevin Sussman, Patrick Walker and Thomas Mann round out the cast.
