Bridget Maasland, one of the regular presenters of RTL Boulevard, does not want to stand behind the desk when she herself is a topic of discussion or close to the news. The presenter talks in conversation with Robbert Rodenburg that she has made a well-considered choice in this regard.
Maasland was not seen in the daily RTL program the weeks after her break with André Hazes. “If you are a real direct object, you cannot present such a program”, says Maasland. “It’s crazy to talk about such a situation.”
Together with the editors of RTL Boulevard Maasland has discussed in which situations she takes a break from her presentation job. “Like the other day, when he left his wife again, I don’t want to be there that night.”
With positive news, the presenter has fewer problems with it. “When he proposed to his ex, I think that’s fine. At a certain point we also move on, our life goes just like anyone else’s.”
It also sometimes happens that the editors call Maasland to verify news or to ask for a response. “If my work calls and asks ‘Have you been proposed to?’, I can’t say ‘No’. I can say ‘Nobody remembers, I prefer to keep it that way’.”
