While she’s rumored to be looking for a home to share with her partner Ant Anstead, Renee Zellweger can boast of other things going on around her. Like seeing her again in perhaps her most memorable role to date – Bridget Jones.
The first film “Bridget Jones’s Diary”, which premiered exactly 23 years ago, was a total hit at the box office.
Bridget Jones: The Edge of Sanity (2004) and Bridget Jones’s Baby (2016) have since been released.
The second film ended with the marriage of the main character to Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) and the discovery that he is the father of her child. The other contender for Bridget’s heart, Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant), did not appear in the third film, as he was presumed dead. However, it was eventually revealed that his character was found alive after surviving a plane crash.
Like the previous ones, the upcoming fourth Bridget Jones film will be based on a novel by the author Helen Fielding.
This time, the story will be based on Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, released in 2013. In it, the main character is a 51-year-old single mother of two, whose hobbies are social networks and dating apps.
However, whether the fourth film will follow the novel closely is unknown, as it is revealed midway through the book that Bridget is a widow and Mark is actually dead.
So far, it is known that filming begins in May, and in addition to Renee Zellweger in the main role, we will also see Colin Firth and Hugh Grant as Mark and Daniel, who are in love with her, writes Independent.
