“I think the internet imagines a lot of things, and this is one of the nicest things,” he replied. “I think there is some kind of cultural transfer to note here. If you are British and you play in something that is starting to be known then people will start to mention that name that starts with B,” he replied.

Until then little known to the general public, the Anglo-Zimbabwean actor Regé-Jean Page plays one of the heroes of the series Bridgerton, released last December 25 on Netflix, and which takes place in pre-Victorian England of the Regency. He thus plays Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings, and is already the new darling of the entertainment world: the magazine Esquire sees him as “the flagship man of the next decade”.
