Hessen Mobil is renovating the bridge over the Kesselbruchschneise over the federal highway 3 near Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen. Work will begin on September 7th and is expected to last until April next year.
The overpass will remain closed during construction. Bicycle and pedestrian traffic will be diverted via forest and farm roads.
In the first phase of construction, the B3 remains unrestrictedly passable in both directions.
However, traffic to the landfill will be diverted. Motorists follow the B3 to the entrance to Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen. There you turn over the Darmstädter Landstraße and take the B3 out of town. In this first construction phase, access to the landfill will be via the Offenbach direction.
The construction work is expected to move to the area below the bridge at the end of September or beginning of October. In this next construction phase, the lane of the B3 will be narrowed in the area of the structure. The parking lots around the building will be closed. The exit from the B3 is then only permitted for commercial and construction site traffic.
Hessen Mobil will provide timely information about the further course of the measure.
