This road, which took tremendous engineering effort—including helicoptered construction equipment—has allowed villagers to exit easily, reducing travel time to the county center from two hours to just ten minutes.

Between 2014 and 2023, China constructed or renovated 2.5 million kilometers of rural roads, connecting over 70,600 villages in 821 townships to paved road networks.
