As reported by the Ministry of Transport, this extensive network includes nearly 160,000 kilometers of railway and an exceptional 4.6 million kilometers of rural roads. Moreover, the mega project includes the Shenzhong Tunnel, recognized as the world’s longest and widest undersea immersed tunnel, extending 6.8 kilometers beneath the sea. The entire infrastructure project spans 24 kilometers; it took seven years to complete and has transformed the region’s connectivity.
In its opening hour alone, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link accommodated over 7,000 vehicles, culminating in more than 3 million vehicles within its first month.
