A woman in Zierikzee found a dress in her garage after a whirlwind that passed over the place at the end of last month. Because the dress seems to come from a bridal shop, the woman is looking for its owner.

The whirlwind that passed over Zierikzee in June, left a mess. The garage of Susanne van de Sande and her husband was also hit. After a few days, Van de Sande was allowed to take the things out of the box, but she also found a clothing bag that did not belong to her.

“When I saw the dress hanging in the bag, I immediately thought: I’m taking this home. This dress is probably not for everyday wear,” she tells. Broadcasting Zeeland.

Bridal shop in Utrecht
The clothing bag that contained the olive-colored dress is from a bridal shop in Utrecht. “You can immediately see that it is for a special occasion. I cleaned the bag at home and let the dress dry. The rest of the dress is still completely intact.”

Van de Sande has searched for the owner via social media, but has not yet yielded anything. Also in her environment no one knows who the garment belongs to.

“I can well imagine that it is not your first priority, after everything that has happened,” says Van de Sande. “But I hope that there may be someone who thinks: hey, this one was also hanging in my room. I miss.”

Van de Sande really wants the dress to be returned to its owner. “Not especially for the dress, but after everything we’ve been through,” she says. “A large part of Zierikzee has been affected. As intense as it was, it was also very nice to see how everyone helped each other in those days. This is the least I can do.”
