BRICS Plus Summit: African and Global South Leaders Gather in South Africa

According to him, the heads of all 54 African states have been invited to the summit. Including Brazil, Russia, China, India and South Africa.

Suklal said that invitations to the summit were also sent to the heads of all states of the South of the world. At the same time, many leaders called President Cyril Ramaphosa and asked for invitations, as they were interested in participating in the summit.

“President Ramaphos decided to invite the entire continent, as well as all the political leaders of the main organizations of the global South, to the BRICS Plus summit. Thus, about 69 leaders were invited in total,” he stressed.

According to him, although the Western countries were not invited, the BRICS members never said that they did not communicate with them.

“We are engaging with the community in terms of solving common global problems,” Suklal said.

Macron at the BRICS summit

French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna recently said that President Emmanuel Macron wants to be invited to the BRICS summit to be held in South Africa in August.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin may also attend the summit. But his participation is still in question, since in South Africa the head of the Kremlin can be arrested on a warrant from the International Criminal Court.
