Libreville, Thursday November 30, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – On the sidelines of this summit, the Head of State spoke this Thursday with Gabon’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Michel Xavier Biang.
World leaders have been meeting since Thursday in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates as part of the 28th United Nations Climate Conference (COP28). This summit, which runs until December 12, aims to resolve the climate crisis by agreeing on the means to limit the rise in temperatures to 1.5°C and achieve net zero emissions by 2050. The participants intend to materialize the fund created during COP 27 in Sharm-el Cheick in Egypt, intended to compensate for the “losses and damages” of poor countries which suffer the consequences of global warming.
Gabon is represented at this conference by its president, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, whose country has made the climate cause a priority. On the sidelines of COP28, the Head of State granted an audience this Thursday, November 30, 2023 to Michel Xavier Biang, permanent representative of Gabon to the United Nations.
