Mannarkkad ∙ Palakkayam village field assistant V. Suresh Kumar, who was caught by the vigilance for taking a bribe of Rs 2,500 during the Taluk Adalam attended by the minister, said that the vigilance had taken kudampuli and honey as bribe.
10 liters of useless honey, 20 kg of Kudampuli and 4 envelopes full of crackers were found from the residence. There were coins worth Rs 9,000 along with fives and tens. The Vigilance Court of Thrissur remanded Suresh Kumar to Viyyur District Jail for 14 days. The case will be heard again on June 7. The District Collector issued an order suspending Suresh from service.
