Briatore opens Crazy Pizza in Naples, ‘Margherita for 17 euros’

Margherita pizza for 17 euros, «exactly like in Milan». In an interview with Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Flavio Briatore presents his ‘Crazy Pizzà which will open its doors «at the end of the summer season» in via Nazario Sauro, on the Naples seafront. Opening in the historic capital of pizza, and with prices much higher than average, is not a challenge to be won for the entrepreneur: «We believe that our different and unique ‘fine dining’ formula can be a stimulating addition to the local gastronomic panorama». A good Margherita pizza costs between 4.50 and eight euros in Naples, less than half the 17 expected in the «Crazy Pizza» in Milan and in the one that will open in the capital of Campania: «Nothing exaggerated – replies Briatore – I am convinced that the price of 17 euros to enjoy a good pizza in a luxury restaurant, served by qualified staff, with a DJ set and entertainment, is absolutely correct». The most expensive pizza on the menu? “The one with a fantastic Pata Negra Joselito Iberico: 65 euros for our most exclusive pizza”. As for the controversy of some time ago with one of the masters of Neapolitan pizza, Gino Sorbillo, Briatore sends messages of peace: “With Sorbillo there has been a cordial relationship for years, we will definitely see each other in Naples, I expect him here”.
