Randall passed away after a long battle with the incurable neurological disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). All the while, the photographer kept his diagnosis a secret.

“It is with great sadness that we share that on August 5, Brian Randall passed away after a three-year battle with ALS. All of us who cared for him did everything we could to honor his request to keep his diagnosis a secret,” his family told People magazine. .
Sandra Bullock met Brian in 2015 when he came to photograph her son Louis’ birthday.
