Brian Mulroney Emergency Surgery | The Journal of Montreal

Former Federal Prime Minister Brian Mulroney was recovering on Sunday after receiving emergency surgery.

“I just wanted to let you know that my father is feeling better and is now resting at home. Thank you all for your lovely messages. My family and I appreciate your love and support, ”her daughter Caroline Mulroney said on Twitter Sunday.

The 81-year-old former Tory leader was rushed to hospital on Friday after feeling unwell while in Palm Beach, Florida, where he usually spends several weeks, according to the Global network.

It was his wife, Mila, who allegedly called an ambulance, seeing that her husband was not doing well. Once at the hospital, Brian Mulroney underwent surgery. The nature of his health problem has not been disclosed.

Back home, the former Quebec politician should be able to fully recover from the operation, according to Global.

Brian Mulroney was Prime Minister of Canada from 1984 to 1993. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quebecor and Quebecor Media, as well as Senior Partner of the Norton Rose Fulbright Canada law firm.
