BRI Will Pay Dividend for BBRI Share Owners of Rp 26.4 Trillion, When is the schedule?

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Good news for BBRI shareholders, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) will pay dividends. The dividend payment for BBRI’s shares in 2022 is 2x higher than in 2021.

The Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) held by Bank BRI which was held on Tuesday (1/3) approved the use of net profit for the 2021 financial year.

The bank with the stock code BBRI will allocate 85% of its 2021 consolidated net profit of IDR 31.6 trillion as cash dividends. Thus, the total cash dividends to be given to shareholders will reach Rp 26.4 trillion.

Sunarso, President Director of BRI, said that the dividend payment is equivalent to Rp. 174.23 per share. “It increased significantly by 76.16% from the dividend per share in 2020 of Rp. 98.9 per share,” he said after holding the GMS, Tuesday (1/3).

Meanwhile, the remaining 15% profit or Rp 4.59 trillion will be used as retained earnings. With the dividend payout ratio, the government as the holder of 53.19% BRI shares will earn Rp 14.04 trillion from the company.

Sunarso said the large dividend distribution this year is because last year the company added a large amount of capital through a rights issue. So that the company’s capital is still very strong where BRI’s Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) is still 25%.

On the other hand, BRI’s liquidity is still very adequate, as indicated by the company’s Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) which is still at the level of 83%. “So even though most of the profits are distributed as dividends, our liquidity and capital are still strong in supporting this year’s expansion.” explained Sunarso.

As a comparison, the payment for BBRI shares in 2021 will take place in April. At that time, the GMS took place in the last week of March 2021. Thus, the payment of the 2022 BBRI stock dividend is not expected to take long.

Last year, the total dividend payment for BBRI shares was Rp 12.13 trillion. As a result, the total dividend payout for BBRI shares in 2022 is much larger than in 2021.
