Bola.com, Jakarta – Duel PSIS Semarang against Persik Kediri will start the second series or the seventh week of the BRI Liga 1 2021/2022 at the Manahan Stadium, Solo, Friday (15/10/2021).

As known, PSIS Semarang never met Persik Kediri in the 2006 Indonesian League final, with the same location, namely the Manahan Stadium. Persik Kediri won the championship trophy through a single goal from Cristian Gonzales in extra time.

Mahesa Jenar, nicknamed PSIS, clearly doesn’t want the failure to happen again every time she meets Persik. Moreover, PSIS is now in much better condition than Persik. The Mahesa Jenar team is currently in second place in the BRI Liga 1 standings with 12 points.

PSIS is unbeaten in the last six matches and trails Bhayangkara FC as the leader of the standings. PSIS also has squad depth and extraordinary fighting spirit, even though in six matches only accompanied by one caretaker.

Different from PSIS Semarang, Persik Kediri is still struggling at the bottom of the board, precisely in position 16 with five points. The White Tiger team must immediately release the relegation zone.

Persik is also in the process of transition following the change of head coach, after Joko Susilo resigned. Persik Kediri is handled by a new caretaker with an old taste, namely Alfiat.
