Brexit and dual-use goods – WKO.at

From 01/01/2021, the export of dual-use goods, listed in Appendix I of the Dual-Use Goods Regulation, as amended, to the United Kingdom requires a permit, with the exception of Northern Ireland, which is subject to the Northern Ireland / Ireland Protocol for the shipment of listed dual-use goods continues to be treated as part of the customs union.

Since the United Kingdom is a relevant sales market for listed dual-use goods and is a contractual partner of multilateral export control regimes, the EU takes the United Kingdom with it VO 2020/2171 (Official Journal L 432 of December 21, 2021) in the list of countries of destination benefiting from the general approval EU-001 (AG EU-001). The United Kingdom will be included in this list from January 1, 2021. Exports in accordance with Annex IIg to the countries of destination benefiting from AG EU 001 are deemed approved by law – provided the exporter has registered on the BMDW website and is active annually by March 1st, a report to the BMDW about exports made in the previous year.

Stand: 22.12.2020
