Brewery AB Inbev no longer waives rent for cafes and restaurants during corona crisis

Since the end of last month, the cafes have to close for a while. The Consultation Committee has decided this because of the high number of corona infections in our country. So no income, but fixed costs such as rent will of course continue for the catering industry. Many café and restaurant owners rent a building from AB Inbev. The brewer has now announced that he can no longer waive the rent during the second lockdown.

“We try to be flexible, but we do not own those properties ourselves. We are only the intermediary. We now want to see what the best payment plans are with the various cafes and restaurants”, says Laure Stuyck of AB Inbev. The brewery also continues to replace beer that expires during the lockdown for free.
