Breuninger Fashion House Hosts End-of-Holiday Party for Charity Benefit

REUTLINGEN. Where adults normally inspect cars, happy children ran around on Sunday. The Breuninger fashion house invited people to the big end-of-holiday party on the grounds of the bhg Autogesellschaft – a charity event for the benefit of the Child Protection Association and the Premature Baby Association.

5,500 prizes in the raffle

Can throwing, bouncy castle, carousel, fun balls and much more – the Breuniger team spared no effort to offer visitors variety and fun. There was a huge crowd at the raffle. “Every ticket wins,” is the promise of those responsible. The total of 5,500 prizes were impressive: trial courses for motorized aircraft and gliders, Breuninger vouchers worth 50 to 100 euros or tickets for the SSV Reutlingen.

“There are companies that donate reliably every time and collect for this all year round,” said Julia Wegenast, assistant to the Breuninger management and responsible for the children’s festival. “Breuninger himself contributed a large part.” The winnings from the Wheel of Fortune also come from the fashion house and its suppliers. Figures dressed in robes, some heavily armed, also scurried around among the children, parents and grandparents.

Star Wars fans quickly realized that they were scrap collectors from the desert planet Tatooine, Jedi Knights and Sith Lords. But everyone – even the evil emperor – only had good things in mind: “We encourage people to take photos with us and donate something in return. We are donation partners for premature babies. V,” explained Stefan Fischer, founder and chairman of Star Warriors Südwest.

“Ruby the Raptor”, a four meter long and lifelike dinosaur, also caused a stir. Despite her over 80 sharp teeth, the female raptor was not dangerous; she would much rather let the children pet her. 22-year-old Antonia Sohm, who hid in the predatory dinosaur, comes from Austria and came to Reutlingen at Fischer’s invitation.

The Breuninger Children’s Festival has been around for 25 years. 70 percent of the total proceeds from the charity event go to the Child Protection Association and 30 percent go to the Premature Baby Association. (yen)
