During an interview on the podcast Attitude EraBret ‘The Hitman’ Hart elogió a Stone Cold Steve Austin and mentioned that Their match at WrestleMania 13 was the best match either of them had in their careers..
“The match with Steve (Austin) was one of my favorites that I ever worked with. He was a really good wrestler. Steve would have been a great wrestler without wrestling me. I don’t ever want to say that he couldn’t have been who he is without wrestling me. But I think the match I had with him was the best match he ever had. It was the best fight I had.it was a great fight. If you ever look at a fight and how it’s organized, you see all the little layers to it. I mean, That is a fight in which you cannot predict anything of what is going to happen.. You sit there and say this is what they’re going to do, like if it was a Ric Flair match, you could sit there and say, ‘Okay, he’s going to take the beat off…’ You can see everything. But I mean, in that match, it’s absolutely every single thing, nobody knows what’s going to happen. And that’s what I love about it,” the WWE Hall of Famer said.
Hitman then mentioned that while the match against Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13 was his best match, Second place was taken by the Iron Man Match he had against Shawn Michaels the previous year at WrestleMania 12.
“WrestleMania 13 was my favorite match. Simply because it was so special. But the Iron Man Match is very close to that. Those are the two best matches I’ve ever had. And despite the result of WrestleMania 12 and not being able to retain the title against Shawn, that’s irrelevant. The match itself is just beautiful, It’s the hardest fight I’ve ever had.“Shawn was great. That was the one I had to work the hardest for, I think the hardest. Of all the matches in my career, those two matches are up there. I want to see someone else have a better Iron Man match one day,” Bret Hart said.
