The tragedy occurred shortly before 1pm on Sunday: the woman slipped near a frozen canal in which an avalanche had fallen. Husband and wife wore no crampons
According to what has been reconstructed so far, also and above all on the basis of the testimonies, the woman slipped on a sheet of ice, near a canal, and fell into a cliff and her husband, in an attempt to save her, also fell. They both died instantly. Shocked the daughter, immediately protected by the victim’s couple of friends. It was they who sounded the alarm by activating searches.
Husband and wife weren’t wearing proper shoes to walk a path like the one they slipped on. Usually that stretch is traveled by hikers with crampons, while the victims wore après-ski. The five-year-old daughter was on a bob pulled by her parents.
