In a corona outbreak in a poultry processing plant in Brenz (Ludwigslust-Parchim district), a total of 51 employees were infected with the corona virus. A follow-up test revealed 14 other infections.
This is the result of the health department of the Ludwigslust-Parchim district after 434 employees, suppliers and relatives were tested in a large-scale campaign on Monday. Almost 40 people had already tested positive in the past week. 14 more infections were uncovered by yesterday’s test campaign.
Work quarantine for around 80 employees
A vaccination campaign on May 20 presumably prevented a major outbreak among poultry processors, said a spokeswoman for the district. The company Plukon Food Group initially continues to work in emergency operation with around 80 employees in work quarantine. This means that they have tested negative and have to go into quarantine at home after work. The reason is that poultry ready for slaughter must be processed as quickly as possible, according to the medical officer responsible.
