Forward Claudio Pizarro is out for the restart of the Bundesliga and Werder Bremen will likely be absent for a long time. The 41-year-old Peruvian contracted a muscle injury in the thigh during training, the Hanseates said on Tuesday evening.
This means that Pizarro will not be available for the game against Bayer Leverkusen on Monday evening (8.30 p.m.) and “probably” for other games. “It is bitter for us, especially because Claudio made a good and fresh impression after the Corona break,” said coach Florian Kohfeldt. “Now we are lacking an option for the first few games in our offensive game.”
