Bremen TV Prize 2020 for nine regional reports

Nine regional television productions were awarded the Bremen Television Prize 2020 on Friday. The winners were announced and presented virtually due to the corona pandemic. The jury assessed seven categories and awarded two special prizes. This year, a total of 151 contributions and programs were received for the ARD regional competition.

In the category “The individual contribution from the day for the day”, the NDR (Kiel) prevailed with the contribution “The beach grass” from May 26, 2020 (Schleswig-Holstein Magazin). WDR (Cologne) received the television award for “The best broadcast” for the edition of “Current Hour” on June 6, 2020. Eva-Maria Lemke (evening show, January 28, 2020) was awarded in the category “The best presenter – The best presenter” 2020, rbb) awarded.

The winner of the category “The best research” is the NDR (Hanover) with the contribution “Care WG” (Hello Lower Saxony, December 22nd, 2019). In the category “What we are particularly proud of”, WDR (Cologne) was successful with episode 1 of “Leben in der Landmannstraße” (local time from Cologne, April 8th, 2020).

The prize for “The most successful viewer participation” went to rbb (Berlin) for the contribution “Sing dela sing” (zibb, April 16, 2020), and for “The best regional digital project” the SWR (Stuttgart) went to the regional Instagram project “SWR Heimat” (July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020) awarded.

The jury awarded the two special prizes to the BR (Munich) for the contribution “Is it worth it?”, YouTube channel, March 26, 2020, and the SWR (Mainz) for the contribution “zuLAUT” (SWR Aktuell Rheinland-Pfalz, 10/30/2019). The Bremen Television Prize has been awarded intermittently since 1974.
