A new, adapted corona vaccine will be available from Monday. The vaccine is recommended especially for older people and is intended to prevent serious disease progression.
The vaccine should be available in doctor’s offices and pharmacies – if it was ordered by last week, reports the Bremen Health Department. However, it is also possible that family doctors will only order the substance now or later – depending on the interest of the patients. The Bremen Association of Family Doctors therefore recommends that anyone who wants to have a corona booster vaccination contact their family doctor.
The Robert Koch Institute recommends the vaccination for people over 60 years of age. It is recommended for younger people if there is an increased risk of a serious course of the disease due to other illnesses. The vaccine from Biontech/Pfizer is adapted to the JN1 corona variant.
