Bremen Football Association Bremen League: Neustadt scores late

26. August 2024

On the second match day of the Bremen League, BTS Neustadt was able to score a last-minute point against Tura. ESC Geestemünde, meanwhile, won clearly against FC Oberneuland and the promoted team from Habenhausen also continued to score points.

The match between BTS Neustadt and Tura Bremen was exciting right up until the end. Adel Yusefi put the home team in the lead after just ten minutes, but an own goal by Neustadt’s new signing Jürgen Heijenga brought Tura back into the game (30′). After the break, Tura added to their lead. Ilias El Asri, who had only been substituted at half-time, scored just three minutes after the final whistle to give Turan the lead. Lukas Baumann was able to equalize for BTS (66′) before Babacar Gnang put Tura in the lead again (75′). But Neustadt wanted to take something tangible with them and their attacking efforts were finally rewarded in injury time. Martin Wegmann scored the equalizer practically with the final whistle, spoiling Tura’s perfect start to the season, while Neustadt recovered from the 0:6 defeat in Brinkum with this point.

On Sunday morning, ESC Geestemünde welcomed FC Oberneuland. Last year’s sixth-placed team in the Bremen league wanted to score their first points of the season after losing 4-1 to FCO in Hemelingen. The hosts showed this conviction on the pitch. Tim Klowat put the Eisenbahner ahead in the 13th minute. Less than ten minutes later, it was Klowat again who put the hosts 2-0 ahead with a brace (22nd minute). His team-mate Maikol Valencia Mina then increased the lead to 3-0 before half-time (35th minute). After the first half, coach Blaz Cavar must have been proud of his team, but there was still another half to play, in which Joans Böhning scored a penalty to bring FC Oberneuland level (51st minute). But in the 71st minute, David Weber scored 4-1 for ESC and sealed the deal. Thus, the first home win for the team from the Lower Weser was successful, while Oberneuland is still waiting for its first win of the season.

Newly promoted Habenhausen welcomed Blumenthaler SV to Habenhauser Deich in its first home game of the season and the match had a lot to offer. In the 21st minute, Tristan Schaper put the guests in the lead. After the break, Gordy Mumpese equalized for the hosts (53rd minute). An own goal by Maximilian Lehmann in the 72nd minute put the men from Burgwall back in the lead. But the promoted team managed to come back after falling behind again. The goal scorer was Demit Korac. The final score was 2:2, Habenhausen celebrated its second point in the second game and showed its comeback mentality, just like on the first match day.
