Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald, Freiburg: Movement pass for children in Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Freiburg starts – project by the district, city, Badischer Sportbund and the AOK Südlicher Oberrhein – pedagogical specialists and trainers can now be certified free of charge

Sedentary lifestyle is a major risk factor for obesity, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and other lifestyle diseases. This applies to the big ones as well as to the little ones. Children have a very natural urge to move, but these days they often have far too few opportunities to do so: the computer, cell phone or tablet beckons here – there the child is pushed in the stroller or taken to school by car. Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, these developments have been more noticeable than ever before.

The stimulus of doing nothing must be actively counteracted and movement promoted in a targeted manner. The district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald is providing an important impetus for this with the so-called movement pass together with the city of Freiburg, the Badischer Sportbund Freiburg and the AOK Südlicher Oberrhein. The program developed by the Office for Sport and Exercise in Stuttgart is also to be implemented in our region.

The physical activity pass is a comprehensive program to promote motor skills in children from 2 to 7 years of age and, thanks to its child-friendly design, is particularly suitable for implementation in daycare centers, elementary schools, sports clubs and many other facilities that work with the corresponding age group. Further information on the concept can be found at www.motionpass-bw.de.

For pedagogical specialists from daycare centers and associations as well as for parents, the physical activity pass offers not only motor skills promotion, but also the opportunity to recognize needs for support but also to recognize progress and to exchange ideas with one another.

Pedagogical specialists and trainers can now be certified free of charge for implementation in their facility. In two joint 90-minute meetings, among other things, the focus is on early childhood development and the basics of motor skills and movement promotion. The participants get to know the concept of the movement pass and can become active and creative themselves in a practical phase between the two training sessions. The certification, a collection of games and a material bag for use in your work with children are free of charge.

The next training course will initially take place in digital form on June 26th and July 2nd from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Registration is possible until June 20th.

Further information on the physical activity pass and registration is available from the municipal health conference office on 0761 2187-3062 or by email to [email protected].
