The annual supervisory body had been postponed from spring to autumn due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The members of the supervisory board welcomed the very positive results of INFOBEST in 2019. Last year, the Infobest employees processed 5,424 inquiries in the areas of taxes, pensions, family benefits, labor law, unemployment or cross-border commuter status. In addition, during the lockdown between March and June 2020 with the temporary closure of the border, there were many pandemic-related inquiries from cross-border commuters and their employers about the classification of the Grand Est region as a risk area for the entry regulations and restrictions on going out in the respective neighboring country.
The previous best information chairman, Gérard Hug, President of the Communauté de Communes Pays Rhin-Brisach, and District Administrator Störr-Ritter expressly thanked the employees for the extra work they had done in recent months. “Once again it has been shown that the low-threshold advisory service offered by Infobest provides the most important and most helpful support for cross-border commuters in dealing with binational everyday life,” emphasizes Störr-Ritter.
Upcoming topics in the two-year term of office of the district administrator as Infobest chairwoman will be the move to the Franco-German cultural center ArtRhéna on the Rhine island Vogelgrun, the 25th anniversary in 2021 and the new financing agreement from 2022.
