A health center opened its doors on October 3, 2023 in the Breil district of Nantes. Focused on the “social health dimension”, it brings together several health professionals and social workers.
The Breil district now has its center of health located at 2 rue de la Jalotterie in Nantes. In this 5-story building, health professionals and social workers. This project is supported by the “Accompagnement Care and Health” association which carried out a territorial diagnosis with 28 local partners. The Health Center benefits from financial support from Nantes Métropole Habitat, the city of Nantes, the Pays de la Loire Region and the Regional Health Agency. It is located in a district classified as a “priority intervention zone” by the ARS Pays de la Loire.
A local health network in Breil will allow local stakeholders to work together on prevention and health promotion actions.
A medical, social and paramedical offer
A general practitioner is already installed, he will be joined by two other doctors at the beginning of 2024. Alongside them, two nurses, a psychologist, a health mediator, a social worker, a therapeutic education and prevention nurse as well as a medical secretariat . Special feature of a health center? All professionals are salaried.
Two speech therapists and three self-employed physiotherapists also receive residents in this building following the fire in their premises in 2018. A presence making it possible to maintain the paramedical offer in the Breil district.
Fewer health professionals in priority neighborhoods compared to the Nantes metropolitan area

Consultations Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and one Saturday morning per month. From mid-November, from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In order to combat medical deserts, the city of Nantes opened a Health Center in Bellevue in 2022 and another is planned for January 2024 in Nantes Nord.
