EL NUEVO DIARIO, SANTIAGO.- The Santiago Free Zone Corporation, through MEDICA, held a health conference this Sunday for the affiliates of the different communication unions. It consisted of performing mammography and sonomamography studies to advance the early detection of breast cancer.
A press release indicates that members of the National Union of Press Workers (SNTP), the Dominican College of Journalists (CDP), the Dominican Association of Tourist Press (Adompretur) and the Association of Art Chroniclers (Acroarte) attended.
Laurina Rodríguez, executive director of MÉDICA, stated that preventive actions are very important to reduce the negative impact and counteract the disease.
On behalf of the National Union of Press Workers, the general secretary spoke, journalist Johanna Benoit, who thanked the health center staff for the gesture and attention, as well as the Free Zone Corporation for supporting the prevention of this type of cancer. .
“Thank you for giving us the opportunity to visit your facilities and allow us to carry out these studies as a preventive measure,” said the union leader.
